One day as Jesus was standing by the Lake of Galilea, the people were crowding around him to listen to the word of God. There were many people gathered there that day (many people heard all around the country side about Jesus the teacher, and people gathered around Him to hear the gentle words of wisdom that came out of His mouth.)
They came from all over the country side on foot, some with donkeys and others on camels. Jesus needed the people to see him clearly, because He had an important message for them that day. He saw at the water’s edge two boats, left there by the fishermen, who were washing their nets. He got into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon, and asked him to put out a little from shore. Then He sat down and taught the people from the boat. (Imagine, the crowd of people, this is why Jesus needed a platform so that all could see him.)
When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.” Knowing fully well that that there are no fish, for the men were out all night and no fish were caught. (Jesus wanted to teach them a lesson, the lesson was for them to have faith, to step out and believe in faith that all things are possible.)
Simon answered, “Master, (out of respect to Jesus), we've worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. Simon said, but because you say so Master, I will let down the nets.” ( Simon stepped out in faith.)
When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break. So they signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them, and they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink. Jesus wants us to have enough faith to step out and trust in Him for He will supply for all our needs, all we need to do is to trust in Him.
When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’s knees and said, “Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man! ( I think that day Simon recognized Jesus as God’s son, as God Himself, the Almighty one ) Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."
(Close your eyes and imagine when the boats came onto shore, all the people gathered to see the boats full of fish, the excitement and the clapping and the rejoicing that took place on that day must have been a sight to see.) The men all realized who Jesus was and many of their lives were changed that day. They left their houses, their work and their families and decided to do God’s work on spreading the good news and leading people to the Lord. That day they trusted God to supply all their needs and God did. (They had faith that God would always be with them and help them through their journey.)

We must learn to be disciples for Jesus. Life is not just about ourselves but it is about the people that are unsaved. We must get ourselves ready as women and men and walk in Christ and have faith that the Holy Spirit will guide us all the way. So let us get our fishing nets ready and catch fishers of men for our God, the almighty one.
