Abram and Sarai were staying in the land called Canaan, the promised land. They did not have any children, but God promised that they would become a mommy and a daddy.
“God led him into the darkness and said, “Do you see the stars that are in the sky”? God said, “That is how many children you will have. “The Lord decided to change Abram’s name to Abraham, which means “father of many”
He also changed Sarai’s name to Sarah. Many years passed by, and Abraham wondered if this would become true. Then God spoke to Sarah, who was old and wrinkled, knowing that she was already over 90. (Older even than your grandparents.)
“Í will bless her” and you shall be a mother of nations. Abraham found it difficult to believe because he was already 100 years old, and he and Sarah laughed about it and thought it was funny.
“And the Lord visited Sarah as He had said, “She will bare Abraham a son in his old age” They called the baby Isaac, which also means “He laughs” The people in the camp of Abraham were very happy, Abraham celebrated, and he gave the Lord all the praise and the honor.
To believe that our God is still a God of miracles and faithfulness. He never lies. Those that wait upon the Lord will be blessed.
