A Chosen Wife for Isaac.

After Sarah died, Abraham decided that Isaac should get married. So he sent for his most trusted servant called Eliezer. "I want you to go to my home country", said Abraham to his servant. Abraham wanted to choose a wife for Isaac amongst his own people.

The servant, Eliezer, asked Abraham, “what if the girl does not want to come back here? Must I take Isaac with me to your homeland”. Abraham said no. "This land is part of God’s plan for my people, If the girl won’t return with you then return back without her.”

So, ten of Abrahams’s camels were loaded wth treasures and Eliezer set out on the long journey. At last they arrived at their destination. It was late in the afternoon and the camels were very tired. Eliezer, settled the camels down to rest at the edge of the town and he began to pray at a water well. "OH! Lord, show kindness and faithfulness to my master. Please choose a wife for Isaac."

A women came down to fetch water at the well and saw Eliezer. He asked the women for a drink of water and he thought to himself, if she gives the camels and myself water then she will be the right wife for Isaac. The beautiful girl gave the servant, Eliezer the jar of water and ran to fetch some water for his camel. Eliezer, the servant knew then that this was the right women for Isaac.

The servant, Eliezer asked the beautiful girl “would it be possible, for me to stay the night at your father house?” The beautiful girl called Rebecca replied, "I'm sure my father won't mind if you stay with us for the night. And don't even worry about the camels. We have plenty of straw and food for them." The servant, Eliezer found out that Rebecca was Nahor’s granddaughter.

Rebecca watched in surprise as Eliezer, the servant bowed his head and worshipped the Lord right there by the well. The servant thanked God for leading him straight to Abraham’s family. Rebecca ran ahead to tell her family that they have a visitor. "LABAN!" she called loudly. "COME  and SEE! COME and SEE!" Laban couldn't imagine what all the excitement was about. He ran to meet his sister.

Her brother, Laban, welcomed the stranger and food was prepared for him. The servant, Eliezer explained the reason for his journey and Rebecca’s family understood that God intended Rebecca to be Isaac's wife.

Next morning, the servant was keen to set off for home. Although it meant leaving her family and going to live far away, Rebecca agreed to go with him. Rebecca said goodbye to everyone and then they began the long journey back to Canaan. Rebecca took her maid with her. It was quite a long journey and traveling on a humpy, bumpy, lumpy camel isn't exactly comfortable, but no one complained. Isaac, was happy that his father Abraham and the servant, Eliezer both had prayed for him to have a bride, and that God had answered their prayers.

The sun was setting for it was evening when Isaac first saw the train of camels approaching the home. Isaac was very excited to see his new bride to be and could not stop staring at the beautiful girl. They were marred soon after that and Isaac loved Rebecca very much.
