This is a sad, but a true story about Jesus to remind us what happened many, many years ago. Jesus was forced to carry his own wooden cross through the streets to Golgotha, (which means “the place of the skull”), where all the executions took place.
As he passed, people mocked and spat at him. When they got to Golgotha, the guards nailed Jesus’s hands and feet to the cross. People yelled at Jesus, calling out, “If you are the Son of God, come down from that cross and we will believe in you. ”There were many people at the cross that day that loved Jesus, one of them was Mary. Just remember Jesus died because he loved us all. He gives us a choice in life to accept Him and have eternal life with him in paradise. While Jesus was on the cross He was not upset with the people around him. He was praying and asking God to forgive them for the things that they were doing to him.
There were two thieves that were hanged that day with Jesus, one of them joined in with the crowd of people and mocked him. Can you believe that this man was there and you would think that he would have pity for the two men next to him, but no he was selfish and his heart was hard. But the other thief said, “We deserve to be punished this day. But this man has done nothing wrong. Jesus, please remember me when you come again as king” I, promise you today “replied Jesus.” You will be today with me in paradise “As Jesus looked down with love towards Mary, his mother, she was leaning on John’s arm. Jesus said “Mother, here is your son." Jesus looked at John and said, “Here is your mother.“ From that day forth John took care of Mary. And Mary lived in John’s home. Under the cross, soldiers were throwing a dice to win Jesus’s seamless robe.
At 12 o’clock in the afternoon, the sky suddenly went dark and a great shadow caused by the clouds covered the sun. Jesus, called out to the Father, “O my God! My God! Why have you left me?” Later that afternoon, he called out, “I thirst” One of the soldier‘s soaked a sponge in wine, stuck it on a stick and held it to Jesus’s lips. At 3 o clock, Jesus gave a terrible cry and said “It is finished! Father, into your hands, I place my spirit” Jesus, then closed his eyes and His spirit left his body. A roman soldier, was standing close by, and heard what Jesus had said, “This man was truly the Son of God." A soldier pierced Jesus's side with a spear to make sure that He was dead. They gently lowered His body down from the cross.

Let us remember that he had to go through all this because he loved us all. Let us give our hearts to him who sacrificed his life for all our sins. We must make sure that all know the truth that God loved us so much that He gave His only begotten son as a sacrifice for all mankind.
