Stephen was Stoned.

When Stephen spoke about Jesus, the members of the ancient Jewish court system were standing around him. The Great Sanhedrin’s were the important people of the Land of Israel during the time of the Holy Temple.

The Sanhedrin heard Stephen’s words of wisdom and they were furious and gnashed their teeth at him, but Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked up to heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God.

Stephen said to them all “I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.” At this they covered their ears and yelling at the top of their voices, they all rushed at him, dragged him out of the city and began to stone him.

While they were stoning him, Stephen prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.”  Then he fell on his knees and cried out, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” When he had said this, he fell asleep.

(What would we do when someone comes and treats us in the worst possible way by throwing us with stones or using words that are untrue, it would hurt us, wouldn't it ? Would we pray for their forgiveness or would we curse them and ask God to destroy them?

The Moral of the Story.

While his enemies were stoning him, he was filled with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is given to all Christians to encourage them, especially when we are in trouble or suffering.

It also shows that those that believe in Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, God Almighty, the three in one God, will be rewarded. We will also learn that Jesus warned His disciples that they would suffer for following Him. So let us all have a forgiving spirit. Remember, all living things great and small are created by God. Taking a life is a sin.

Dear Sunday school partners, all around the world. Please refer to your bible and compare to see if you agree with our children Sunday school lessons.

The stories are not word for word out of the bible, they are created from my own thoughts. I am only human, so please check the stories out first before using them.

These stories are based on easy words for children to understand, and my own thoughts. You are welcome to use your bible to add or take away. At the bottom there is space for you to give input and comments on the subjects. You are all welcome. We are there to make a difference in a child’s life so please come and let us work together for God’s kingdom.
